U wanna talk 2 me ... and the rest of the Blog Talk Radio world who may be listening? This is my new "toy-adventure" & I want others to come play along with me! I'm seeking authors, poets, and professionals in the literature world (from cover/design artists, publishers, promoters, etc.). Selling Myself Back Into Slavery...to buy a Life of Freedom!

You may have seen me post about the amazing author Ms. Bev Jenkins before. It was in one of her incredible historical novels where I learned of a free Brother who loved an enslaved Sistah so much, he sold himself into slavery to be with her ... THAT's LOVE!

Since I love ME, I have been putting myself back on the block for employment purposes: smiling my best smile, shining myself up, making sure I present my best for those lookin' me ovah. I think it's payin' off. By next week, Lawd willing -- I'll be singing Halleluyah as I sign an educator's contract for the coming school year. I tell ya, after spending these coupla lean years in this wilderness, I'm looking forward to my new host. I hear they're good folk: allow me to do as I please in the evenings, weekends, and we get holidays, too!

Now, I know some of you freelancers and die-hard entrepreneurs are throwing cyber 'matoes. Just hear me out:

1) I am thankful that The Creator deems me and my skills marketable, still!
2) I am thankful that I can participate in my financial maintenance & upkeep!
3) I am thankful to be able to wear the employee "ruck sack" as I better strategize and save up for the freedom that is bound to come when this Civil War on the Economy ends (that may be awhile, so it's good to have a field to do a li'l work in and raise a few crop$).
4) If thangs work out well, shucks, I'll stay on and continue to work the fields even after the Freedom bell tolls! Maybe purchase me a li'l plot from 'em. Cuz, hayl, to be honest, it's lonely out here hustle-in' all by myself! I could use the company and interaction with others in the education field ... it may get a li'l rough in spots ...but 'least I'll have others to share a few laughs with, too!
5) 'Sides, truth be told ... we're ALL enslaved on some level anyway -- which makes it most important to BE FREE WITHIN ourSELVES! Don't believe me? Check out the wisdoms of our elders compiled in this fantastic must read:

A Taste of the NYC BlogMeet @ Juniors

First, my apologies to Dejanae, and Yellow Rebel and his crew. Since I was at the mercy of MTA I was later than expected ...okay, so I probably would've been late even if I drove (but not as late as via subway, I don't think;-). I did send Y. Rebel one last email before I hit the street letting him know I was running later than planned. I was hoping he was better tech-equipped than I & could actually check his email from his phone...no such luck;-).

When I arrived at 6:40pm Organized Noise was at the bar (dang - he's ALWAYS early;-). Then he said it took him a half an hour to get from Wall St. to Nevins St. (that's 3 or 4 train stops, right O.N.?), I knew it wasn't my imagination that the trains were running slow even for weekend service (took me well over an hour from da Bx - that just ain't right;-)!

So, O.N. & I catch up cuz we haven't seen each other since the last BlogMeet about a year ago and he went into blog-retirement. He told me all the exciting things one can do when they shake the blog addiction: sleeping, socializing, traveling, etc. Wow! Maybe one day I'll try that. I started to feel a bit concerned, so I did walk through Juniors a little after 7pm cuz the place is kinda huge and I didn't realize they had two bars -- a diner style counter in the front and a fully stocked bar with likker in the back. If u don't know me - when I say I'll be at the bar look for the fully stocked one;-).
Note: the Brother sitting at the bar on the right took us "under his wing" and demanded a waiter for us. I think he was creeping Jewell out though. He was harmless: after finishing off a coupla drinks he proceeded to sit at a table near us and take a sitting-up-nap. LOL!


Back to my story: Just as I began thinking that Jewell had gotten discouraged by the crazy NYC subway system and given up, I initiated ordering food cuz I was starving and planned to do more drinking. LOL! Of course, as soon as we put in our food orders Jewell calls (YAY!!). They had just gotten off the train, so I talked her through finding us while O.N. went outside to be the welcoming committee.

As Jewell and her girl settled in the waiter bought our food. We finally flagged down another waiter to take their order and he bought a heaping plate of breads including some delish smelling cornbread. I was skrong: no extra bread, butter nor cheesecake -- drank most of my calories along with the fructose in the ketchup for my fries, as Jewell pointed out! LOL!

We had a good time talking & getting to know each other. I can say that since I've started attending these blog meets I always feel more like I'm catching up with old friends than sitting with strangers!


After eating all that we could we agreed to walk it off by crossing the Brooklyn Bridge back into Manhattan. Jewell & her girl purchased their cheesecake to go (please forgive me for forgetting her name. I want to say Askia - but I think that's wrong. Update: Jewell's girl's name is KEOJI. Don't ask how I heard what I heard. LOL!). Of course, we had to take the famous tourist flicks in front of Junior's!

Once we got to the Manhattan side of the bridge I had to say my farewells! I had some non-blogging friends to meet uptown. I know O.N. pointed out more great sites before they all jumped on the C train on the West side ... he's the BEST tour guide! Can't wait to meet up more now that the weather's (kinda) getting warmer;-).

We definitely need to make these BlogMeets a regular thang - but I think a more prompt host (O.N.?) should be the point person. LOL! We can start by crashing supporting his mixer on May 14th at Mixx Lounge. Who's IN? I'll be there...I may not get there when U want -- but I'll be right on time! ;-)

NYC/Bklyn Meet: Sat. @ Junior's: C U @ 5:30pm

Nobody who lives in Bklyn had any other suggestions....sooo, Junior's Restaurant - home of the world famous cheesecake - wins!

Yellow Rebel says that he and Video Vix[o]n will be making appearances. I'm too excited that this is really going to happen!

Jewell, glad to know that your host said this is easy for you to get to! Koffee Dyme, I left a message at your blog, hope u can make it. Manhattan-ites, c'mon across the bridge! Jewell, Junior's isn't known for pizza - but it's in a busy enough spot that I'm sure u can find a slice near by, if you've really gotta have it. And U MUST have the Junior's experience & photo op.

Ms. Lee? Dejanae? N.Steven - hope u have a safe drive back in time to meet n greet. Is That Johnson Boy still in? LoveBabz - have fun with your birthday boy! Make a cupcake for the bloggers who aren't there;-). Ms. Behaving I know u have other obligations & Eb, do your Celeb thang, Girl!- u'll both be missed, too! Lance. Have a safe trip, Bruh. Sorry about the loss. U r in my thoughts & prayers.

Maybe, just maybe I need to give in to the need that some men I meet/date have for porn ...

Ok, here's my compromise. I have a GREAT imagination, so I'll help "stage" a skin-flick. Below, I'm going to list some of the BEST things that men have done for me that sent chills all up & DOWN my spine! I told the one Brother who I dated for seven (dynamite) years that he needed to write a book for the clumsy azz others I had encountered. Thanx to my inability to find another HIM -- I went into celibacy mode (no true replacement, yet... pray for me... woman cannot live off memories alone;-). LOL!

Pre/Set the stage) Start by flirting -- even if u know each other well -- go out and flirt in public with EACH other. lol!
1) Take the lead through your actions. A well placed, gently guiding hand does it for me E'vry TIME!
2) Take it slow;-) ... u gonna get yours -- just be patient...
3) Simply breath ( just open your mouth & let the heat flow;-) onto those places where u consider putting your tongue -- the anticipation will result in WALL CLIMBING!
4) Lick then blow along that wet trail....shivers guaranteed! Note: Please lick without slobbering.
5) Touch lightly and breath on any & everywhere along the epidermis... especially those places we can't reach ourselves: backs of legs, curve in lower back, back of neck, u get the picture, right?
6) Watch & listen to the reactions ... that will help set your paces...
7) Head & Face massages can also curl toes - learn to give good ones! (Fellas, this is OUR head attached to our FACES that I'm talking about: focus, please Lance! ;-)
8) A li'l teasing is fun, too. Give then retreat. Start and stop ... until the begging begins;-).
9) If u must wake us up - do so gently with incentive to join in ... ;-).

Oh! U thought I was going to spell it out VERBATIM & add images to guide U? LOL! Take those few tips and see if your partner can help U interpret. Feel free to add Toe Curling Tips of your own in the comment area! Remember, this is grown folk talk - get out the "kitchen" if you're not ready for the heat;-).

I'm OUT!!

I know that I am not always easy to get along with. I also know that if I'm digging U I will give U the world - even if I'm only KINDA diggin' U, because I am no longer afraid to be WIDE OPEN - I've got a big heart. However, when u show that u can't reciprocate I will cut u out of my life so quick your head will spin before u know it's spun! As my Grand-daddy used to love to sang: "You won't miss yo' watah, 'til yo' well run dry." I should never have had to ask U to "make time" for me/us. I should never have had to ask u to show with your actions that I'm a priority. I. AM. Woman. Enough to handle when a Brother's not that into me. U should've just said no. Your excuses were lame and I don't want to hear them -- I REFUSE to hear them anymore. I try to give Brothers benefit of the doubt as long as I can, but when I go against the instructions of The Good Book I am going against the greatest lessons of all: Matthew 7:6 - "Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you."

So, like the Godfather, I only make one request -- I will not ask another if the first is refused, because I don't ASK for help often nor do I take assistance for granted. TRUST me: U will come looking for ME before I seek your company ever again... but I won't "be there" cuz ...

NYC/BK Blog Meet NEXT Saturday, April 26: HELP!!

Jewell said she's getting into NY early next Saturday - 10am-ish (i will NOT be awake...let alone in bklyn.;-). She's staying in East New York & her host has to work - so, can we make it easy on her and meet somewhere near or in East NY? I don't know good pizza in that area & I know Jewells wants a slice. But, since she's stayin' in the USA's own Caribbean should we over rule her desires & find the best rice&peas/patties (not that I'm being selfish - LOL! ;-)? Bklyn's also where Koffee Dyme is - but not sure what area. So, c'mon y'all - what's a good time & place to meet next Saturday? I can get to Bklyn by 3 or 4pm. This doesn't need to be an all day/night thang. Let's just meet, eat, talk shyt, take photos & if some of us wanna hang out into the evenin' cool. If some of us got places to go, people to do tha's cool, too! ;-). See y'all NEXT Saturday...Where? What time? I'll repost this with answers once we figure it out in the comment area:-)

Grown Freakin' Friday: ADULT subject matter for those over 18

This new weekly feature that Cap's a-musin' on was sparked by the deep response to a "simple" question I asked about Porn Enthusiasts. Now, I'm going to start with the most basic question and we will build up from here each week. I promise the questions will get more interesting after we lay the ground work.

First of all: What is porn? What do U consider porn? And how do U feel about porn (are u an enthusiast, never use it, occasional assistance is cool, etc.)?

*According to FreeDictionary.com:
porn - creative activity (writing or pictures or films etc.) of no literary or artistic value other than to stimulate sexual desire.

CAP's two-cent: If that's the definition -- most of those videos for sale are not porn because they are not EVEN creative! LOL! What they are - I have no idea.

*According to Wikipedia:
Pornography or porn is the explicit depiction of sexual subject matter, especially with the sole intention of sexually exciting the viewer.

CAP's two-cent: This seems to fit my idea of porn a bit more. But, what do I know. What do U think?

Okay, so I'm inspired by the responsiveness & real discussion that occurred in the Porn Enthusiasts post. So, when I return - I'd like to continue that discussion with Real Grown Folk Talk Friday's (seems like the best day for such a subject, to me;-): starting NEXT Friday, April 11th. Busy gitting my hustle ON tomorrow;-).

I am reminded of a line from the historic play, which NEEDS to be revived: What the Wine-Sellers Buy, "Get her mind, then her body will be easy."
