Reflections ...on LOSS & LUV ...

This year, 2009 has been filled with a great DEAL of loss: quite a few celebrities & public figures, some family members & blog/internet family. I tend to lead a solitary existence - sometimes I choose this isolation because I think it'll make it easier because I won't experience the pain of losing loved ones if I don't "have" loved ones. I'm discovering that even choosing to live life behind the electronic curtain does not protect the heart. When Nikki passed & I discovered I was actually disturbed by it I became frightened at the prospect of losing Blog/Internet "family" who I have actually developed a real life relationship with and truly grown close to.

At the same time, being the conundrum that I am, I love people and am quite a social being. I've finally re-opened my heart to Love on a variety of levels: self-love, friendships, romance, even reaffirming family connections. I'm learning that it's the LOSS of Love that hurts - not the actual LOVING of others. Life without Love - as the "cliche" goes: really is not worth living.

Reflections are a funny thing... I had no idea this post would lead me to the renewal of Love. But, I guess there is No Loss if there is No Love. Hmm, that's deep. I need to go reflect on that a bit more. Peace, Blessings & MUCH Luv 2 U!

Rest in Peace - 2 One of the most PASSIONATE bloggers EVER: Nikki Harris

Wow... I was shocked to learn from fellow blogger, DC that the ever feisty blogger, Nikki (blog-author of Indigo Trails) has passed onto "the other side". Brother Dyssturbed Mined shared the details of the cause of her death.

Thanx DC for the memorial service information. If you are a blogger in the ATL area - please attend, if possible:

Nikki Harris Memorial Service. Gregory B. Levett & Sons 4347 Flat Shoals Parkway Decatur, GA 30034 404-241-5656 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 5, 2009

To be honest I'm really feeling some kind of way about the loss of this blog-sistah. I never met her & I didn't always like her raw writings, but she made me FEEL something EVERY TIME I read her work and for that I'm thankful. Nikki is the first member of my extended blog-family that I have lost. She seemed too young & too vibrant to be gone already. Of course, I'm not The Creator & have no "say" in the time that anyone spends on Earth. All that to say: I, too will miss Nikki - a woman I never met, but was touched by just the same.

RePost: Just Want to Show Love...

to a Man I've Never Met,
but he still made me -- ;-)

... and then Strip For Him
with the following words that Sistah Helesi turned me onto:
*these words make me giddy...

Strip for me - by Lamar Hill

She said she wanted to have sex with strings attached
but only to her arms and wrist
Said she had had her heart broken too many times to ever walk down that road again
she said she only wanted to partake in the physical
said she wanted me to fill her chest with my treasure
then afterwords pretend as if I had never even met her
but there was something about the way her insides taste
after they had marinated over night

that made me wonder what it would take to have this woman wake up next to me for the rest of my life
to abandon my feelings of abandonment
to make every women who came before her a blur
see the fact of the matter is I want to reinvent the wheel with her
I want to find deffirent reasons to fall in love every single minute
that's why I contimplate diffrent positions to keep her interested every time i'm in it
that's why I treat her sweat like holy water
trying to absorb every drop into my skin

so when I'm going through the hardships of my day I can always revert back to her skin
so I told her to Strip for me
told her to take off that thing that makes it impossible for her to commit
and commit to getting rid of it
told her to take off the stigma of failed relationships in the past
told her to slide out of her ex man
told her to take off all the baggage, and just lie in front of me naked
told her sex was cool

but making love is sacred
forget how you stayed up until all hours of the night
wondering if he was even gone bother to come home tonight
forget the bump and bruses
the lies and excuses
the mediocre sex that he didn't even bother to shower for
cause in my eyes you a virgin
pure as the darkest night
and sure you might have given your body away a few times
but you never bothered to open your mind
so in the same way the moon has power over the sea

you have power over me
and I won't be satisfied until you come nine times
why nine?
cause nine is the number of completion
it serves notice to the creator that we have found peace within
but first I need you to strip for me
Take off all the memories of every ill fated one night stand
every failed second chance

all the nights wanting romance
take off all the misery
thinking you had to endure his bullshit
cause ya'll had history
I want you to unbutton the suffering
slide out of the doubt
cause it's all about you
everytime I walk in the room I'm consumed by the power that exudes from your womb
and he was a fool not to pay homage to a goddess

your body is timeless
I want you to strip for me
soul bare
mind open
Focused
believe you deserve love just like the rest
believe your body can be used for more then sex
I want you to strip for me
emotionally
then I want us to start new
I want you to strip for me
cause I've already stripped for you.

So Thankful 2 Be Among The Living!!

There have been too many who have left this Earthly realm sooner than it seems necessary (including members of my family)! I may not BE The Creator (so, who am I to really say they "left too soon"?) - but, I will heed the lessons that are put around me BY The Creator!

For the remainder of this year (& prayerfully, from HERE ON) I vow to:
  • Be Encouraged!
  • Be SO THANKFUL that I do no complaining w/ these LIPS
  • & spend more time moving these HIPS to keep this EarthWear in TOP FORM!
  • ACTIVELY LIVE & Enjoy THIS ONE chance I have on this earth!

I truly appreciate all who support my projects & endeavors!

Hugz 2 U ALL!!

Say What U will - but there's NO denying....

This is the MOST famous individual AFTER Jesus! Name ONE other person who was as WORLD famous by the time they were ten years old. I don't think it's possible. Jesus died - left this earth at the age of 33. No human should have been this famous, especially not as young as he was... it is the reason he is so troubled, in my opinion (in addition to the stress & abuse he endured). U may not like him, but there is NO denying his WORLD wide fame and influence. Can U IMAGINE the F&%ery and general mayhem that will ensue when this MAN dies? If you have ever been lucky enough to see him live I hope you saved those ticket stubs &/or photos because they will be as valuable to your children and grandchildren as any of the best stocks on the market. And you can quote me on that;-).

**This was originally posted on 8/26/07. And My originally chosen video has been removed from youtube - but this one serves the purpose:

Wow! Michael Jackson left this earthly realm The Day Before MY Earthly Father's 73rd B'EarthDay. This was originally posted August 26th, 2007 and MJ passed away June 25th, 2009. I have ALWAYZ loved your talents even if I never MET nor KNEW YOU, Michael. I am THANKFUL for the works that you have blessed this earth with!

I think I can STAND THE RAIN... can U?

It's been a RAINY Spring & I've noticed many facebk & twitter comments about it. My Father sometimes jokes about making sure we have sturdy umbrellas cuz it just may "Cloud up & S%$*!" How would U like THEM APPLES? LOL!

I love sunshine as much as the next "SUN GODDESS" - but I don't REALLY feel right about complaining about ANYthing that's created by MotherNature - especially since I'm SO BLESSED! Now, I'm hoping I don't have to "eat my words" because I'm taking another leap of faith and seriously opening my mind & heart to the possibilities of sharing my life w/ someone special - someone that Jesus loves & I'll try my best to do the same! Yes, I. AM. DATING w/ intentions of marriage. I still believe in soul mates - I'm just becoming a bit more active in the process of connecting with mine;-).

Here's my Melting Point Episode where I discuss taking Social Networking to a whole NEW level! Stay tuned & keep me in prayer!

2009 I'm Reclaiming what's mine: Swagga!!

Last Saturday I joined several seasoned sistah friends to provide comfort & healing for one who had just cleaned her home of a relationship. As the elders say - when you do good for others you get good in return. One of the sistahs READ me & I know that I needed to hear it. Some of you may be surprised to learn that my swagga has been teetering on stagga. But, I am thankful for new beginnings and opportunities to reclaim my swagga!

When I moved to NYC in 2001 The Creator had this amazing Sistah take me in until I could find my own place. She gently shared that I was hiding - although she used different terminology. As I posted on Sunday, three years ago I talked to this Brother Andrew Morrison at my church and he also gently shared his observation that I seemed to be hiding even though I am out in plain sight. In hindsight, Brother R. Fitzgerald said similar regarding why I'm a challenge for brothers - but I wasn't getting it. Well, the sistah who read me stated exactly how she observed me hiding out in the open - cuz I haven't been hearing the gentle nudgings of those before her. She stated: 1) that she could tell I had been hurt in past relationships and that it's time to let that go (I thought I had - but apparently not!;-). 2) Despite my training that good sistahs "don't" - it's okay to get to know more than one man at a time (just play safe!;-). And 3) She gave me specific actions for coming out of hiding (Thanx - I NEEDED that!)! Then I stopped by Clnmike's blog on Sunday and he's posted a Deal Breaker list that speaks loud & clear!

Ok, Creator - I GET it! I need to step out on faith in a different way than I have been. All of my cocky rantings have not been reflected in my actions toward myself. So, my mantra (& my actions) for 2009: Time to Step INTO the light that is MINE (no more shadow boxing)!!

I love the words to this song that reiterate my actions for 2009:

2009 Really IZ my year to SHINE!

The Creator has been speaking to yelling at me through some key folks since I was sent from DC on this quest here in NY. This Brother Andrew Morrison grabbed my attention three years ago at a seminar he offered at my NYC Home Church. Since The Creator brought Andrew into my life I have been stepping more & more into my light!

Thanx Andrew for all of your help, support & for mentioning me in this 11th Episode of your 16 Week Challenge Reality Show:

One of the best parts of Andrew's 16 Week Challenge reality show is his ability to bring people together! It's not too late to participate in more episodes while they are live. It's my year to shine - it can be yours, too!
