Here's some extra motivation for those of us who need this BOOST! Every so often I need to hear this & u may also;-)
I have started reading this young brother's book and it inspires me. Initially, I was feeling a bit of Hator-bile rising in my throat - but once I told that devil to step back I could actually take IN what this young Brother has been chosen to teach! Enjoy this video clip and the first two exercises and steps he offers in his book: Reallionaire.
This new weekly feature that Cap's a-musin' on was sparked by the deep response to a "simple" question I asked about Porn Enthusiasts. Now, I'm going to start with the most basic question and we will build up from here each week. I promise the questions will get more interesting after we lay the ground work.
First of all: What is porn? What do U consider porn? And how do U feel about porn (are u an enthusiast, never use it, occasional assistance is cool, etc.)?
*According to FreeDictionary.com:
porn - creative activity (writing or pictures or films etc.) of no literary or artistic value other than to stimulate sexual desire.
CAP's two-cent: If that's the definition -- most of those videos for sale are not porn because they are not EVEN creative! LOL! What they are - I have no idea.
*According to Wikipedia:
Pornography or porn is the explicit depiction of sexual subject matter, especially with the sole intention of sexually exciting the viewer.
CAP's two-cent: This seems to fit my idea of porn a bit more. But, what do I know. What do U think?

Okay, so I'm inspired by the responsiveness & real discussion that occurred in the Porn Enthusiasts post. So, when I return - I'd like to continue that discussion with Real Grown Folk Talk Friday's (seems like the best day for such a subject, to me;-): starting NEXT Friday, April 11th. Busy gitting my hustle ON tomorrow;-).
I am reminded of a line from the historic play, which NEEDS to be revived: What the Wine-Sellers Buy, "Get her mind, then her body will be easy."

One of my favorite blogs is: Encourage a Brotha (now: BlackMaleAppreciation.com). I never see any comments on their posts - but I love their content. They give a sistah like me, HOPE! One of their articles (which I pray everyone will read) focuses on the Three Doctors, who have written a new book about making peace with their fathers! There is much positive going ON - despite what the media is promoting! So, I ask, if we can spread the Jena 6 news can we spread something to uplift us and bring a SMILE to our faces, please? Thanx!

Have you asked one how her day was and then really waited for the answer?
Did she snap at you? Are you sure?
Did she hear you correctly? Did you hear her correctly?
Did you approach her with animosity? Curiousity?
Did you drop the "lines" and simply ask her - "Hey Sis, How you doin' today?"
Hmm, she still snapped? Well, then maybe she had a bad day.
Maybe she's just tired of being held to standards that are unreasonable.
Maybe she just wants to be a sistah who is:
Admired for who She Is
Without being touched without her permission or judged.
Or told that "She thinks she's cute." or "She ain't all that anyway."
She just wants to be loved by her man, a Strong Black man who accepts her as she is.
She just wants a Strong Black man who accepts her and won't toss her aside if she dares reveal less than perfect attributes.
Or...maybe that's just me.
