In honor of this Memorial Day - may all of our fears Rest In Peace! And Thank You to ALL the Brothers & Sisters who've fought for my freedoms - whether as a military soldier or "simply" a warrior for my Lawd!
Sometimes I have felt the need to: F.%&k E.verything A.nd R.un:
1. When a loved one is gravely ill and we know the end is very close.
2. As my parents age I often cringe -- terrified at the thought of living without them.
3. When watching others mourn a loss I don't know what to do or say.
I'm Proud when I have: F.aced E.verything A.nd R.ejoiced by taking action:
1. I've assisted many of my elders during their last days and was relieved to realized that just because their shells were crumbling - the essence of the person I knew & loved was still sparkling in their eyes and their whispers.
2. My Daddy engages me in conversations about it and I do trust that it will give me the strength I need when I least expect it.
3. I trust that sometimes just standing near a person in mourning offers some comfort.

Loss of a fellow Blogger...ponderings...
I guess about two months ago discovered the wonderful travel anecdotes and photos of Jac. Since I discovered his captivating blog he has decided to step away from it. Initially, I was quite concerned and afraid that he had left more than the blog-o-sphere. I was contacted and assured that Jac is fine, but may not be blogging anymore. I continue to visit his blog - as there are numerous tales that I need to "catch up" on that were written and posted before I discovered his site.
The most interesting thing to me is the fact that so many fellow bloggers continue to leave comments wishing Jac well. It makes me ponder the fact that leaving the blog-world is a "hint" of what it may be like to leave the real world. Leaving the blog-world allows people to leave comments and gives an idea of possibly what may be said when we leave this real world.

Rest In Peace
Memorial Weekend 2007: May all my hang-ups Rest In Peace.
Thanks to those who served in all the wars that lead to my freedoms.
Thanks to those who came before me and fought for their lives simply for the freedom to live allowing me to burst forth and live freely as I do.
Thanks to the painful and often brutal experiences of my parents and my ancestors I'm pock filled with insecurities, fears, and anxieties. Not to mention a host of mental and physical quirks and idiosyncrasies.
Thanks to the passion, intensity and audacity of my parents and my ancestors to love in spite of their "ignorance and inability" I'm overladen with this..."senseless" faith in...a Higher power and in all that is living. Not to mention a host of endearing qualities and handsome genes.
So, I'd like to take this opportunity to lay My Issues To Rest.
All the BULL shit that cuts us deeply without laying one finger on us...Rest In Peace.
All the childhood taunts, the grown-up injustices and -isms, the social inequities that cause conflicts within ourselves...
may you all
REST.
IN.
PEACE.
