Favor to ask on behalf of my fave living author:-)

Before I give up all the details about my fabulously fun & mad-venturous weekend at Ms. Bev's PJ party I am asking for a favor! There is a Romance Author's Poll and we BevLanders want Ms. B's book Topaz to win! Please vote that Topaz is your favorite romance novel, too! Even if you haven't read it - trust me, once you DO - we're confident that it WILL be one of your faves;-)

Here are two of our reasons:
1) We love all of her books, but think it'll be best (& not watered down) if we focus on ONE title, it's the tenth year anniversary of that book AND besides the rules state only one book per author (they probably know i'll list ALL of Ms. B's books;-)

2) The Hero, Dix Wildhorse is probably the most "fought" over of Ms. B's characters. LOL!

Wednesday Wisdoms & Wonders:-)

Welcome Back for Wednesday Wisdom vol. 8
I've flipped the script a bit;-). I'm in need of real, every day wisdoms, wonders and good news! To that end...

Then, share with us a Wonderful Blessing that You, personally have experienced recently (do NOT simply state: "found this great Blog-Family" we'll take that as a given...dig a bit deeper;-).

My newest S-hero: Ms. Beverly Jenkins!

I am moved to send a huge cyber HUG to my favorite living author and greatest inspiration outside of my parents and ancestors. Words don't sufficiently describe this amazingly humble woman. Her books are categorized as historical romances, which seems inadequate to me. I have learned an incredible amount of Black History from her novels and I am not new to Black History studies.

In addition to writing the best historical romance novels on the market, Ms. B (as we call her in BevLand) is extremely generous to her fans. She's taken some to dinner, sends gifts to young mothers, cards to those who are ailing and collects gifts and cards from fans to send to each other. I was extremely touched when a young fan (daughter of a BevLander), wrote into BevLand to tell Ms. B that she got an A on a book report about one of Ms. B's young adult novels (all the fluid history without the adult action;-). In addition to sending the young lady a letter that she could take to school to show her teacher, Ms. B called the girl! I know if that had been me in my pre-teen years, a phone call from a favorite author would have caused me to pass OUT! I can't imagine what I would have said to a Gwendolyn Brooks, or Mildred Taylor. As it is, when I had the great fortune of meeting Beverly Jenkins I had to remind myself to breathe!

So, thank you, Ms. Beverly Jenkins for your amazing books! Thank you for the love and encouragement that you offer to us in BevLand. You have truly made this world a better place. Please check out Ms. Beverly Jenkins' website by clicking on her name!

What main lesson have I learned in the month of February?
What month are we in? I've been so busy reading & writing I lost track! LOL! I'm ever amazed & thankful for ALL the lessons that The Creator sends into my life & consciousness - can't really sort it out per month.

What bad habit do you want to rid yourself of this month?
Hmmm, I'm learning to flip the scripts - I'm now INCORPORATING positive, life affirming habits - drinking more water, working out 3 or more times each week, reading & writing daily on focused tasks & topics;-)

What are your favorite muses?(From FreeDictionary.com: 2. muse - a. A guiding spirit. b. A source of inspiration. - needed to make sure I was clear;-)

#1 - The Creator/My Ancestors/My Parents (I don't know how to separate them in my head/heart)
#2 - All those who love me, listen to me, support me & my unique perspective on life (friends, family & new blog-family)
#3 - All the strife that I didn't realize was fertilizer for the creative growth I must live

Name one thing UNIQUELY DIFFERENT that you recently discovered about yourself?
I laugh at my own jokes and no longer care if those around me don't "get it".

What is your definition of passion vs intimacy?
Passion: Something you can't shake no matter how hard u try (or is that addiction? LOL! though I guess Passion IS a healthy addiction:-)
Intimacy: When u willingly engage behind the barriers of another & allow them to do the same.

What are you currently vibing to?
Anthony Hamilton (love his southern themes = sistah big bones, cornbread, fish & collard greens, etc.)

What are your favorite gadgets?
My laptop & cell phone - all about communicating, baby!

What would be a perfect date with the person you're thinking of right now...
A stroll along an avenue, in a park where we just talk & laugh & laugh & talk and eventually go get something to eat...hoping it never ends...

Last book read?
Where does one end & the next begin? Recently finished Jill Nelson's "Sexual Healing"

What would you re-name it based upon your perception of the storyline?
Most Women's fantasy...for the moment and a dayum good way to make a buck!

How many times a day do you look at your blog or the blogs of others?
Too Many - I have to impose restrictions on myself:-). LOL!

Butterfly....me

If you look closely at the photo you can see butterflies. If you look closely at me, you will see a butterfly who has come out of her cocoon, too.

Thank you to all of the Beautiful Brothers who have loved me. Some of you I know and some have loved me from afar, nevertheless, all of your energies have made me into the loving, passionate Woman that I am today. Note: Please do not mistake my passionate to mean the overt sexuality that has become a profitable, Internet past-time.

As I listen to other women, and read or listen to the relationship "experts" I wonder - how did I come to love Black men as I do? Now, don't let me mislead you into thinking that I'm presently in the ideal relationship as written by my favorite romance novelist B. Jenkins (U like that plug, Mrs. B? ;-). Not yet, anyway...soon, I believe I will be in a wonderful, loving and ideal for me relationship;-). I do have my share of concerns with trusting and committing to another human being. But, I'll get to that later.

Right now, I must send out a universal THANK You, to the beautiful Black Men who I have had the great fortune of crossing paths with. Regardless, of my "shoes", I ab-so-lute-ly ADORE Black men!

The hour is now late and I must get a bit of beauty rest;-).
