Heaven help US!!!

I wish this were a fictional excerpt. I had an appointment to present information to Newark High School students today. I shared an online resource to assist them in deciding careers and colleges. As I was helping one student send the link of the resource to himself, I noticed many of the emails in his box came from this site below. I didn't ask him about it, but came home and immediately did a search. I CANNOT believe this is a real site. I do know that HATE sites exist, now I've discovered SELF-HATE sites exist. I wrangled with whether or not to ignore it because I don't want to promote it - but many of you have children and you need to be aware of all the manure they encounter here in cyberspace.

I went to the site in search of information about those who developed it, without success. Next, I went to their Terms of Agreement and this is what I found (most of this is so ridiculous to me, because the very EXISTENCE of the site is a form of harassment in my opinion).

"The following is a partial list of the kind of Content that is illegal or prohibited on the Website. NiggaSpace.com reserves the right to investigate and take appropriate legal action in its sole discretion against anyone who violates this provision, including without limitation, removing the offending communication from the Service and terminating the membership of such violators. It includes Content that:

• is patently offensive to the online community, such as Content that promotes racism, bigotry, hatred or physical harm of any kind against any group or individual;
  
  
• harasses or advocates harassment of another person; "

Though, I do have to ask myself why I'm irritated by NiggaSpace...but find www.rent-a-negro.com a Politically Strong statement....Hmmmm.

N-word...2 Kick Around...and OUT?

Do we think it's possible to EVER cease the "casual" use of the Horrible N Word? Dick Gregory tried to slap us into awareness with his book entitled such. Richard Pryor stopped using it after his visit to Africa. Will this word EVER offend US as deeply as the swastika & derogatory term himey offends Jews?
I admit that I was lulled into the complacency of using the N word until I moved to NYC. Now, when I use it I mean it in its worst sense. If I call you this word it should sting worse than Puta or MotherF*&er. Living here in NYC I've trained myself NOT to cringe or allow my blood pressure to rise every time I hear the N word flung around the streets by the youth of ALL cultures here. I've trained myself to no longer desire a lead pipe to bash out the brains of the individual who uttered the word so flippantly. I'm not sure which would excite me more: a Black President or the death of the N word. Let's kick THIS around ... and eventually OUT!
