Wow....

Denzel did a great job portraying this character, in my opinion...but, what was it like to live the life of The Black American Gangster? Funny how the movie doesn't use Black for this Notorious Citizen - as if he were the only American Gangster....any other time...oh well...that's another discussion. The Multifaceted Many Faces of Me

I guess this post is inspired by Sistah Kiki but written with my newest interest in mind, since I encourage him to read my blog. Kiki jokes (i think:-) about her multiple personalities. But the truth is we all have multiplicities. I want him to get to know me and I want to get to know him. Sometimes peeling back another person's layers is...um...a challenge. Maybe this post will help him to understand me a bit bettah (and may clear up some things for those who think they know me;-). I hear men say they love the "newness" provided by multiple women - I say I'm all the women any one man will ever need & be able to handle;-).

Nostalgic...NOT

Wow. My Mom slapped me "skrait" back to reality and out of that nostalgia that I had slipped into while I was "home" for my Thanxgiving visit.

I had a much needed wonderful time with family and friends this past weekend. I mean: the food was plentiful and delicious (& since most of my family is vegetarian or health conscious - I could stay "on track", for the most part;-), I got my drink on, boogie on AND flirt on (with my girls on Friday night). One of my good friends has returned from the ATL to DC to teach at our favorite school where we met, because as she says, "They're one of the only private schools that really gets it".

As I absorbed all of that love and information my "heart" wheels started spinning and the thought came to mind: Maybe I should return to DC, too. I'll be surrounded by folks who love me and no doubt, I could easily slip into a well paying gig at my favorite school. So, I took the chance to see what my family thought of that idea as we sat around "kickin' it". I could barely form the question, "Should I move ba--??"

My mother spat out a resounding, "NO!"

Well --- I guess that's settled. LOL!

Ramblings from my lock box...

i think i've been in my box too long....here are some ramblings floating thru my head:

Ced the entertainer was the funniest "king" of comedy when he joked about how he "wished a MFrkah would..."
Sometimes, i wish i could just:
...be a baby mama & not worry about the consequences.... (I'd have kids & mother's day would be a special occasion just for me, too!...like the rest of "his"[my exes' - yes plural exes;-)] baby mamas - they're plural, too!)
...marry the next jokah who says I'm beautiful....(I'd be married .... & probably divorced like the rest of "them"...)
...be a happy slave/employee for the ego-maniacs who paid me handsomely...(I'd be paid -or- at least i think so...)
....those are all the things that supposedly "anyone" could want...*smirk*

*** "sadly"....I'm not wired that way. Try as I might, I can't SETTLE for less ... than The GREATNESS that the CREATOR has laid out for me. Lawd, Give me the strength to hang in here for the amazing life-path that you lead me on. I look around and see others married, with kids and PAYD....now whether they're happy or not is debatable.....

Now, I don't want U to think that I'm having a pity party....but as I had a wonderful brunch with a dear friend today we LAUGHED & LAUGHED about the (above) BS that gets 'applauded' in the "good ol' US of A."

As Brother Langston Hughes said in Life is Fine: "You may hear me holler and you may hear me cry, but i'll be dog sweet baby if you'll see me....."

...and you all wonder why I've crawled into a box...(hear the Geoffrey Holder laugh as I re-enter)...... HA HA HA ha hhhaaaaaaa.....I am ENJOYING this life outside of the internet & hope you are, too. OOhhhh, cuz when I return....oh, it's gonna BE JUICY - er!!!

Where in the City is CAP?

Several have asked what I'm doing in hiding.

Here it is:

*Seeking employment -- when did it take this long (2 months & counting) to simply find a salaried J.O.B. where I have no desire to battle with supervisors' egos past quitting time? Give me a shout if you know anyone who wants a receptionist, admin. asst. or any other position filled that an educator/developing writer can handle without too much emotional output. How do I tell an employer nicely that I just want to cover my living expenses and go home to my books after giving them 8 hours of me (or did I already do that by posting it on this blog;-)?

*Writing, Writing & WRITING. Several different projects going on at once and this job search is getting in the way. LOL! Check out a new li'l spot & motivator I found: NaNoWriMo. Oh, yea - Reading, too - but that seems to be synonymous with Writing. LOL!

Climbing back into my lock-box, now...whew! Who knew this could be so all consuming? ;-)
